Ahh so you have a ion redline??? Nice you need swap the pulley out for a little lighter one and get header back exhaust that should get you at least 30-50hp depending on boost. I used to get to ride in and had the pleasure of driving my friends jackson racing s/c si 02 civic. I just love the sound of a roots blower, can't beat it.

I actually plan on doing that, but I would need 42.5 lb injectors and a new tune. It's in the plans.

I wasn't talking big amounts of boost gain only 2 lbs or so more than it is stock. What is the stock boost set at...6...? Here is my friend's 93 Mx-6 he is fixing to s/c it with the eaton m62 blower off of the Mercedes Kompressor cars. If you look on their my budd'ys 91 probe GT is on some of the vids he has a t3/t4 turbo on it and also has a 95 gt 2nd gen with the klze motor in it.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/518812

I have the M62, and it does 12.5 lbs at 6500 rpm. Actually I think it does more than that, there is a boost bypass valve that kicks in at 12.5 lbs, but I blocked it. :D

Doesn't the bypass valve act as a bov??? At least I was under the impression that it did.

No, no need to keep a Roots blower spooled, it's speed is controlled by the RPM of the motor. It only let's off excess boost. In my opinion, the only excess boost occurs right before the motor pops. GM put that in because at that point they hadn't tested it beyond 12.5 psi. It's now tested at 17 psi and still warranted

A friend has nearly finished a rebuild on his EK hatch with a JRSC'd B18CR, full panel and paint, deloomed bay etc. I drove it before he pulled it to bits, and although it wasn't the fastest tear-your-balls-off car I've even driven there was just something about it that left me grinning like a little kid every time I put my foot down!!

Also, for the Ecotec haters, check this: There is a company in California that will upgrade your Lotus Exige. They traditionally are lightweight but don't have a lot of HP. Secant will drop in a motor that puts out 280 HP. That motor, is the same motor in my Saturn. They just add a bigger supercharger! I was pretty impressed with that. Also, Whitfield Racing tuned an Ecotec to 950 HP, that's pretty impressive for a 4 cylinder.

So they took a lotus motor and put the M62 blower on it...seems fairly simple I dont see why those lotus owners with all there money just don't do that. And as far as the boost goes on a roots blower I'd think the only time it wasn't at a constant psi would be during shifts and lower throttle %. I've just seen s/c'd cars with BOV's on them before sometimes twin bov's.

Something about taking a car to 9000 rpm every shift is also amazing, I used to sit in the passenger seat and watch the Tach needle disapear on a 5" tach.

I am a believer in these motors I have rode in a SS with a simple pulley swap, headers, and 2 1/2" header back exhaust. Made me a quick believer.
