Krich, "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is a kids series about three orphaned kids. They did a movie with Jim Carrey in 2004. I've never read it but my brother (who hates reading) was into them for awhile.

Lep, funny that you mention the 50 Shades of Gray series. My mom's been begging me to download them onto our Kindle account but I won't let her. I told her to buy them in paperback because I wanted nothing to do with that particular genre on my Kindle. So we're in Barnes and Noble one day and she's totally giving this poor lady the third degree about them, "You don't think they're pornographic, do you?" "Um, ma'am, this is something I'm not comfortable talking about." "Yeah but they're not porn..." for like 5 minutes before I ushered her out. I lawled. That poor lady probably quit that day!

CMS which book series are you referring to?

"a series of unfortunate events)
The books by Daniel handler (lemony snicket) that we're about 3 orphaned kids who went from guardian to guardian and were constantly chased by count Olaf. I think there were 13 books. I remember I read the first 10 books as fast as possible, slowed down for the 11th, and became bored with the 12th, so I didnt even read the 13. I'm kind of curious what the conclusion was now.

I'm a member of Audible it's a books on tape kinda thing, someone else reads it and you just put on the headsets on and listen. I love them! I use to travel 300 days a year and they were great on the plane.

I'm also subscribing so I can que up a few of these authors in my account.

Great thread thanks!

@cms: At this point, its like an hour's read, why not? I would.

@jfritts91: Robert Jordan. Not Brian Jordan. lol

@Lep: Thank God she is not married then! :P

@Slippery K: Hitchhiker's Guide was hysterical!! I loved those! Song of Fire and Ice is good but L-O-N-G. I'm about halfway through the first book right now and lovin it but its definitely a big undertaking...like bigger than the freakin Bible big! lol

@Egon: Thanks! I figured I can't be the only one out there lookin for another good read. Check out the Temeraire Series by Naomi Novik. The first one is called "His Majesty's Dragon." Its basically a (mostly historically accurate) recounting of the Napoleonic Wars with the addition of dragons. Fing Amazing!! Its the only series I have re-read every time a new book came out just so I had an excuse to reread it! hahaha

It's a little longer than an hours read, I think the book is like 250 pages, and I'd have to buy it, I may just look up the ending, but I'm not sure.....
