Anyone successfully breeding Super Red Severums?

Just with pairs, as far as I know. Most SA cichlids (most, not all) will still thrive and grow out well in harder water with a higher pH, but spawning won't occur without the proper trigger.

Quite true. It's not necessary their healthy, but their behavior.

I have a Gold Female and Red Male pairing, only added them together today but they are flirting like crazy already, doubt i'll get eggs tho because my water is quite hard.

That being said my friend bred his Rotkeil Male with a Green Female, some of his fry are around 3" now, and this guy never ever does water changes and has about 20 big cichlids in a 5ft tank!
