Anyone take offense with Black Op Ads?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this dude just has a stick up his butt. another person who wants to blame guns, and video games instead of where the true blame lies. with the parents.

Lol, all this fuss over a game rated for adults that adults let their kids play. I like that ad, showing people from all walks of life that like to play FPS.
I love how everyone gets all in a fluster when an adult themed and adult rated game comes out and adults claim it will warp their kids' minds. Why buy it for your damned kids then???????
Of course it has nothing to do with modern parenting techniques of each parent working 50hr weeks and palming their kids off on nannies or day centres, it is all the adult themed and adult rated game that "responsible" parents let their kids play.
The solution is simple, follow the ratings and don't let your kids play it. Then you can move onto the real issues for why your kids are screwed up.

I wish people would grow up and stop blaming video games and TV for bad choices they make in their life. Video games are not real... they are pixels on the monitor. I like playing games such as Postal 2 and GTA, yet I don't do any of that in real life. I'm the type that holds doors open for strangers. I say please and thank you.

*sighs* i realize the espn article was long but it wasn't about weither or not video games are ok for kids and or an attack on the rating system or parenting.....it was about weither or not it was bad taste to show regular every day joes like you and i and celebs using military weapons in an urban setting. Basically glorifying military action. The game is not at all shown in the commercial, nor do they show kids in this live action. infact, i imagine most people don't know what the commercial is about until the game flashes at the end. that's assuming most people aren't gamers

Parents should teach them what's right and wrong it's M for a reason. Am not saying that guns are good but the feild this guy is In is like putting him on jury for a drunk driver case when his son was killed by a drunk driver so obiously he will think all drunk drivers should be jailed(it's an example not trying to offend anyone) so he thinks all guns are bad virtual or real.

yep^

I personally didn't like the commercial. It didn't offend me, but I could see where it offended others. At least there were no dead bodies.

Seeing as what the guns were, the writing on the guns like noob tube, the timing of the ad, ect. I would think most would know it was for COD.

The setting and the use of guns does not promote urban violence no more then a hunting show on TV promotes kids in the country to run around with a shotgun picking kids off.

I also disagree about it being in sensitive. Saying there is a soldier in all of us can be taken numerous ways. 1. we can all be gamers no matter what we do which was the message they were trying to convey.
2. If you wanted you could think that we could all be soldiers in real life. That's true. There is a soldier in all of us if we had chosen to heed the call. We dont breed those in the military. They are your neighbors and such.

Want kids to stop shooting themselves then put blame on parents for improper storage of their weapons. Allow parents to spank their kids or yell at them again without fear of child services coming along. We have taken all of the bite out of parenthood these days and it shows. When I was a kid if I yelled at my parents I knew I was in trouble. Kids do it all the time today with almost no recourse. Schools pass kids to the next grade so they dont get depressed by failing. the list goes on and on.

The blame goes to the parents and even further into what we have become as a society in general. Video games and TV are far from the issues. If exposure to violence or weapons bred carnage then our country and suburban population would be in war right now....

Celebs play the game too. Its just showing all the different types of people in the country playing together online.
