That 8 wire supply jack seems like a bit of overkill if I only plan on running one of those 3 led lights. I'm wondering if I could take an older 12 volt power supply cord and cut/splice/soider it into the new led wire and call it good. Of course I would cover this in electrical heat wrap. What do you all think? I'm looking at less than $10 if it works as planned, $8.49 to be exact.
How long is the tank? I think I'd go with 2.
There is another option. I use a screw in type bulb that has, I think 18 blue led's. It screws into a normal light socket. I have one mounted on each side of my 55, in the canopy. http://cgi.ebay.com/4-x-110V-AC-Screw-in-18-LED-Light-Bulb-Various-Colors_W0QQitemZ250315333356QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250315333356&_trkparms=72%3A1234%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14
(That price is for 4 bulbs)
They just don't last as long and it's a bit harder to place them. You have to have a canopy to mount them.
