Aquariums and gardening.

Looking good, gents! Love the garden, we live in our backyard for the 5-6 months of the year that is possible. lol
With -40-50F winter temps at times, you soon find out what is hardy, and what is not.

Here in the UK us up north call out the southern softies, lol. Weatherwise we have it a bit tougher than them. But compared to you Canadians we've got it real easy.

A really really cold UK winter might hit minus 10, I can't even imagine what minus 50 feels like, lol.

Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 you have a fantastic garden.
I have the gunnera and lots of bamboo, even have a canna I have to take in and out but as for the tree ferns or bannana I am way too far north (leeds) for that. I am assuming Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 that you are somewhat southerly?
Thank you for the compliment. I'm in the Midlands, stourbridge to be precise. Black Country. Not quite a southern softie lol.

I thought you were in London! Well that's really put the pressure on me now. You're only an hour or so south from me! I have no excuses up my sleeve for not having a garden in like yours now, lol.

Thanks for that Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 , you could have told the guys you lived in North Africa or summat, lol.

It's your fault going on about southern softies, I had to set the record straight after that lol.
No excuse now mate, if I can do it so can you.

-50what do you grow Neil? Rocks?

Well not banana trees, that's for sure! lol It's actually quite amazing how many different trees, shrubs, and flowers, exist in the coldest climates of the world. Even the Hummingbirds from Central & South America fly this far north (and beyond) to breed each spring. Our yard goes through various stages, from early spring, to late fall. Always something happening. Right now the Hollyhocks are in full bloom.

Hollyhocks are beautiful and from pictures and TV programmes I've seen so is Canada. I picture huge lakes and rivers with salmon hunted by bears.i picture moose walking about. Maybe just a stereotype but that how I've always imagined it. Never thought you would of got humming birds though.

You almost had me there Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 , until you mentioned bears and moose.

I'll stick to good old blighty with hedgehogs and rabbits! Lol.
