Hey guys, Arapaima speculation question for anyone,

Do you think an outdoor fish predator such a Blue Heron could/would prey on a decent sized outdoor Arapaima?

I ask because Arapaima are supposedly 'armored' from predators and are known to eat birds but I am not sure how this would contend with the sharp beak of a hungry Blue Heron. (see below)

I have admittedly zero experience with this but I don't think a heron is going to attack a fish it can't fit in its mouth and fly away with. When you say decent sized, I'd think the size of the pima alone would make the heron not bother with it.

Agreed with above, decent size I would say to be 3-4' or more...so no it would eat the bird...
