If the U.S government were to legalized Asian Arowana's in the U.S., then everyone would eventually breed them. This will cause the price to drop, not right away but eventually it will. Asian aro's will cost the same as Jardini's and Silver's and everyone will be able to get one. That's good for the fish itself and the hobby. But I don't see the breeders in Asia supporting the legalization of Asian Arowana's in the U.S. They would loose too much money...remember, the bottom line is the most important thing to the breeders.
this doesn't make any sense :screwy: what made you think if asian aros were legal in the US, then their price would eventually drop to jardini and silver prices because everyone would be breeding them? keep in mind US is one of the few, if not the only, potential asian aro markets left that is still banning the fish. Meaning there are plenty of opportunities for countries around the world right now to try breeding and cause a price drop according to your logic, but you don't see that happening. Price is still as high as ever. Adding US to the list would not change anything significantly.

I disagree! The price would change significantly but not for the better! Think about it. If American't legalized Asian arows there would be a big demand 10,000 people would want em!causing a limited supply here, there, n everywhere else! The price would jump! Simple supply n demand!even if only 5000 people wanted em there would still be a significant price jump!$hit I would want 5 myself!n honestly I wouldn't even care if price jumped I'd still buy em up!

Also the Asian arow breeders would have to be retarded to not want American't to legalize em. That would be a whole nother market opening up for the already limited supply that they control!!! Arows don't have thousands of babies like my rbp!n aren't near as easy to breed either!! What I wanna know is when did we go from AmeriCAN to AmeriCAN'T ?? Can't have THIS, can't have THAT,& definitely can't have THE OTHER! Bs if you ask me!! There's parrots on the cites 1 list that people own here legally! They have to stay in the state they were bred in! But their LEGAL!! Example! The quenn of bolvaria (golden conures) hyacinth macaws are all but extinct in the wild n they are 10,000 each but they can be bought n sold!!!with no states boundaries!!!pure bs that I can legally buy a spotted or laughing hyenia 100miles from my house in southern Missouri but I can't have a damn fish bred n sold from a fish farm with a micro-chip to prove it!! But Asian arows should be the least of our worries!!! Their wanting n tryn to ban all non-native species of mammals, birds, n reptiles!!!!! Then every single one of us will have something to ***** about!! But like true American't that we are we'll wait till they pass it to ***** n moan about it!

It doesn't make sense the farms breeding arows are micro-chipping per cites orders n the farms are registered with cites but its the cites laws that keeps US n only US from keeping them!

You're not reading...CITES isnt doing anything to ban them from america, its your own government that does...

I done with repeating myself. If you want to complain to someone who can initiate change, contact Willie R. Taylor, Phd (Willie_Taylor@ios.doi.gov), the Director Secretary of the Interior. He's one of the lead staff charged with administering and enforcing the Lacey Act of 1900. (www.doi.gov)

While you're at it, contact the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) (www.fws.gov) (Acting Director - Rowan W. Gould) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) (www.noaa.gov) (Director - Jane Lubchenco) in order to contest farmed asian aros as listed in the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
