Ok Gshock will try...

Anyway can any of you MFKers answer these questions:
1)Is it better to feed feeder tilapia or market tilapia? And how do I make fillets?? Just cut cubes out of them?
2)I say canned shrimp selling cheap but I forgot to look at what brand it is can I feed it as part of my aro's diet? If so, how often should I feed him that?
3)What are Dried Maggots for as food? They're expensive tho...

Thanks guys

The tube would be a light.

The tube looks like a tanning light for the arowana.

Feeder tilapia are live baby fish... tilapia fillet is something you buy at the super market. Better to buy the tilapia. Fillet is a cut of fish. Bassically the entire side of a fish with out and bone of scales. I buy a few pounds of it and freeze it, then cut some off when im ready to feed the aro.

For food, you can get everything from your local super market for alot cheaper than the pet store. I feed fresh tilapia(chop it up) and shrimp mostly in terms of fresh food. For a pellet i use Hikari Massivore. You should aoofer at least some pellet, or stuff it in something else the aro eats. My aro is also 7-8 inches right now.

In regards to feeding maggots, i have read that some asian aro breeders will hang a dead rabbit(or simular) carcass above the pond, and allow the maggots feeding on the carcass to fall off and into the pond for the aros to feed on. More of a treat than a staple.

Hey joey, thanks for replying. In what kind of food you stuff pellets in for your aro? The food my aro is now consuming is still not large enough to stuff pellets. Normally I only feed heavily gut loaded feeders. I don't use Hikari though too expensive I use other floating pellet brand.

And guys why is the light half in the water and half out of water? Why isn't it on the hood usually?

Thanks

Hello again, I just want to ask, if I were to feed fish to my aro, which is the best option from below?

1-Comets(definitely a no no so I don't use them)
2-Rosy Red Minnows(My LFS just got them last week)
3-Feeder baby carp(the ones that I feed)
4-Feeder baby tilapia(My LFS got them last week too)

And how often should I feed my aro earthworms and how do I gut load them?

Thanks

Shouldnt be feeding feeders at all, but if you must, go with tilapia or carp.

The feeders would be much better for your aro if you were to be feeding him in a bigger tank:grinno:
