Very well said Canuck. First off I would like to say that I've been in the hobby for 5 years now when I first got into this hobby I joined another forum that is mainly UK based. Anyways this other forum theres constantly new people to the hobby coming there having absolutely no knowledge to what there doing have no idea what cycling you tank is etc and there wondering why there fish don't look good. Now when I came here a few months ago I was very surprised to find out that these sort of questions never come up because the people here already know what they are doing.
I think that most of the people here are at the next step of fish keeping compared to what most of us started off with little 10 or 20 gallon tanks with fish they can be bought pretty much anywere.
In the 5 years I've been in this hobby my interest for it has come and gone a few times never got rid of anything and always took care of them but never got on the forums did research etc. Several months ago I got really back into it and now I'm very serious about it.
For me this hobby and a couple others I have are more of away of life for me not just a "hobby" so yes I take it very seriously and I have a great amount of fun with it.
Another one of my hobbies is gaming all the time while playing online you hear people telling others "is playing games all you do you need to get a life" What exactly is that suppose to mean. What exactly do you have to do to have a life. For me life is my family and hobbies thats it and I take both very seriously.
The things I enjoy most about this hobby is setting up tanks to look very natural, just watching them do what they do, getting new ones and setting up new tanks, doing research on different fish and different setups, and forums everything I've learned from fish keeping I've learned on fish forums.
