I love this forum and my fish. Seeing how you only have 80 posts your new here.
Its monsterfishkeepers.com..... pretty much the closest to serious fish keeping you can get. Maybe another forum would better suit you.
You just made my point "post counting". This forum is only part of a bigger world of fish keeping. I want to read about cool stuff that people have experienced in this hobby...not the rant of some know-it-all who thinks because they have nothing alse going on in their life but posting a thousand threads of why someone isnt up to the task, or brow-beating someone for lack of experience...seriously? Again, where's the joy in this hobby if all you can say (spew) is negative?(snobby works there too) You might miss out on some cool new thing if your to closed up to experience new things...like a different perspective.

Lets all just mellow.

Honestly why do we need threads like this? Can't we all just get along and enjoy the hobby together.

Very well said Canuck. First off I would like to say that I've been in the hobby for 5 years now when I first got into this hobby I joined another forum that is mainly UK based. Anyways this other forum theres constantly new people to the hobby coming there having absolutely no knowledge to what there doing have no idea what cycling you tank is etc and there wondering why there fish don't look good. Now when I came here a few months ago I was very surprised to find out that these sort of questions never come up because the people here already know what they are doing.

I think that most of the people here are at the next step of fish keeping compared to what most of us started off with little 10 or 20 gallon tanks with fish they can be bought pretty much anywere.

In the 5 years I've been in this hobby my interest for it has come and gone a few times never got rid of anything and always took care of them but never got on the forums did research etc. Several months ago I got really back into it and now I'm very serious about it.

For me this hobby and a couple others I have are more of away of life for me not just a "hobby" so yes I take it very seriously and I have a great amount of fun with it.

Another one of my hobbies is gaming all the time while playing online you hear people telling others "is playing games all you do you need to get a life" What exactly is that suppose to mean. What exactly do you have to do to have a life. For me life is my family and hobbies thats it and I take both very seriously.

The things I enjoy most about this hobby is setting up tanks to look very natural, just watching them do what they do, getting new ones and setting up new tanks, doing research on different fish and different setups, and forums everything I've learned from fish keeping I've learned on fish forums.

Canuck is very bold with what he says and does and will say what is on his mind. Maybe hes getting a little ticked off because your kind of making it out be be a bad thing if people take this hobby seriously and to the extreme so there for he is taking offense to it.

Remember for many of us here this is not only a hobby but away of life so when we hear things like why take this so seriously or get a life (not saying you said that but did kind of seem you were leaning towards it) people can and will take offense it .

The post count thing was only to imply you just joined and your already bashing on members by more less saying they have no life and take this too seriously. Some are more serious than others, i honestly would never have posted what i said had i not read your other post. The one where you agreed that it was okay to take a baseball bat to a fish's head and beat it to death because it had to much attitude. Not only did you agree you laughed at the thought of it and mocked people who where against it.

All that aside, this forum is great. Even i find myself thinking some people go off the handle. Though the experiance and things you gain from this is much worth taking a little head stratching somtimes. Find the good things in this site and not post about the bad, we all love the same thing.

Thanks erk :)
