i have had personal experiance keeping goldspot morays (Gymnothrax tile). most experts will tell you that for a happy life the eel will eventualy require brakish/marine and this is partly true, in the sense that a wild goldspot put in a fw tank would get stressed and stop feeding. However my goldspot captive breed in fw tank has always stayed in fw. he is verry happy and feeds extremly well. now i will stress as goldspots stress and stop feeding a lot easier in fw its one of those points where every eel really is different and again not really recomended without previous experiance with the speicies. but that said, i dived rite in, tanking the eel from a freind who bred it in freshwater and hve had his ever watchfull eye offering advise along the road. he is also very docile, livin in a comunity tank with a pair of oscars, a poly, a plec and his strange best mate... a rainbow shark??? yeap thats the weirdest thing of all, moray best mates with a rainbow?
