Aren't mostly all fish like this? The darker the background, the more pronounced the colour becomes. Its a natural thing, not really a theory. As for your original question on why theres always people trying jar coms, take a look at the threads again. They ask, people say no, and they don't bother with it until someone gives them the answer they want. Then they go ahead and do it anyways...
All correct. There's no way around to this truth.;)

Biased? Their aggression is not based on hearsay or opinion. It is based on evidence and fact. I do not see why those who have experience with jardinis and even saw their very true nature are biased, merely stating the truth. Your opinion about their reasoning because they could not get Asian aros themselves, does not justify why they class the jardini as aggressive.

Agreed.

However, it wouldn't be good to make the generalization that every Jar is, was, and will be a killer of tankmates, as the tanks that a number have kept have Jars with a variety of fish.

Yes, it is a fact that their aggression is true. But that doesn't mean to say that every single last one of them is, as some people would swear by.

I have a jardini with a silver and a cat. I agree people should be more cautious with keeping tank mates with them it not cool at all when so many jars or any fishes are lost/killed. I heard a story once about a guy in asia put a bunch of arows together and what he had did when he first put them in the same tanks he set up a crazy strong pump and left it on for a week. So with the whole week all the arows were busy swimming after he turned that pump off they got along with each other and it was a large quanity of arows in a tank that would prob kill each other.

Lupin i couldnt agree with you more!

Thats why i made this post, how comes theres so much evidence of there aggressive nature yet people still do it?

I managed to find a post with Hao and another guy and between them 20+ Jardinis had died and they planned more.

I hope Hao will join in he knows alot about these fish.

I thaught we were here to share experience.

It all boils down to our tanks, in nature the Jardini would be fine with other Fish but you cant ignore its a territorial animal and theres bound to be exeptions.

A 6x2x2 is not in anyways a big footprint, nor is an 8x4 really lol

There's absolutely no way you can compare nature and aquariums (enclosed glass boxes). Their habitat is far larger and allows them to stake their territorial claims effectively than the enclosed glass boxes can.

A fair statement would be most jardinis are pretty aggressive, of course there are the few jars that are peaceful and can live in communities. I had two jars, around the 6-8" size they both showed great aggression.

i really didnt like how you said we found a swimming pit bull i can assume you have never owned a bully breed.
