Are we unfair to the Jardini?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Look im really sorry if i came across as being rude the whole subject just irritates me.

I would like to apologise to Hao, im sorry but your name was the only one i remembered yet you was the only one who didnt kill any.

In the post it said you grew three from 9" to 16" at different times.

I cant believe that one thread could irritate me that much lol

I really think we should be harsher on people who try to communitise these Fish, and i would like to hear from anyone who has kept a mature Jardini with tankmates for over three years(I believe this gives it enough time to kill something if it feels like it)

Im really excited at the moment because my Jardini is turning up next friday:nilly:

Also Pitbulls rule im a bully man myself, i love boxing have been doing it for four years now and i have soooo much admiration and respect for the breed!

They are a beautiful fish and it is easy to understand why people want to keep them. Some might classify the Jardini in the same category as a Pit Bull Terrier. Good Luck.

~that was anythingfish....im not the only one yay

Also the post i was raving about "Jardini tankmates (please read) i counted

52 dead tankmates

11 dead arrows

I didnt count the ones people "got rid of" and i didnt even read half of it!

People keep killing them because they are cheap to buy, imo. If jars were $200 USD or more, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Really no different then any other type of aggressive fish that people try to do communities with. For every 100 stories of failure, a small percent of success stories will pop up and people want to believe they know the secret to success and their experiment will be different. They're the chosen one with superior fish keeping and it'll NEVER happen to them......until it happens and they have egg all over their face. Then they try to rationalize why it happen and try again. never ending cycle

not really an aro thing only

Wow sensitive some of us are :). I think it would be awesome to have a community of jars personally. Let people do their own thing and you keep doing your thing thats the motto I live by. I think the secret is to find the super sensitive jars. I had a jar back in the day that would kill anything introduced into the tank. This attitude started when he was 3 inches. Then I see a jars with discus. Recently I seen a jar with rays and even 1.5 inch dats. I asked the owner if the other fish were ever bothered by the jar and he said no. Im rambling but lets all share info on keeping fish and not shun off others because they do stuff that we don't agree with. Lets all get along.

This is the problem, now somebody will read your post and think they can keep a jardini with discus or rays or dats, just because someone seen someone do it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with attempting such a mix as long as your are experienced and have successfully kept all of the prementioned species. Then and only then you may possess the wisdom to overcome the odds to pull of such a mix.

You do realize that this is basically trial and error? It's unfair if someone who is tightening the belt tries the combo of discus and jardinis and end up losing all his precious discus because he is totally convinced it would work just fine. Discus don't come cheap at all. Not everyone has the luxury to risk his expensive fish and wasting them to the bin instead.

I like how nobodys questioning why we should put them poor fish in that situation.

A Jardini with others would be really cool but i wouldnt place a jack russell (discus) with my say aggressive doberman (Jardini) on the off chance it might work.

Does nobody see where im coming from?

Are we really that selfish?
