Are Y'all Rich or Something?

I'm broke and in university, 2 years ago I worked full time and bought a 75 gallon at Big Als fish store on a boxing day sale, Been looking for a bigger one ever since but no money, right now it has about 50 dollars worth of fish (actually got them to lower the price of my lung ;))
But its harder up north to find cheep aquariums even in the bigger cities, anything over a 50 gallon i find is priced over 200 even used pfft
Just have to wait it out

i live pay to pay too

but then i do without many other stuff
don't drink nor do i travel a lot(hate getting out of my comfort zone
thus what i earn goes for tanks and fish and camera gear

there have been times i have spent money on something like a tripod or a lens and had to eat at the cheapest restaurants or had to cook noodles and be happy

and being crazily into the hobby has grown the number of people i know, which in turn helps in getting stuff at the right price

so basically its the addiction that keeps me driving and have ended up with more than 20 tanks and 2 ponds to care for and a super neat assortment of camera gear to boot

and when u are single it helps too :D

i save up my money slowly n get what i want. also 80% of my tanks i find.lol. or poeople give me. my 125g is the only tank i get got new. lol. and all the big boy tanks i get used for good deals. just look for the good deals and save money. this hobby is all about spending money i feel lol. the fish are like kids but even more damanding cause they are swimming in there own crap lol

learn small with a 20 or 30g choose a cichlid you think looks cool then months years go by and boom you have maybe a 55g then another year as you fish grow then 125g so on and so forth. then after it has become your hobbie grow from there like me

"beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" Acquire and admire only what you can afford...

Not rich, not poor. I have accumulated my tanks and equipment over 12-13 years. I buy small fish, raise them up, and [hopefully/usually] keep them for years. I have invested many thousands of dollars into the hobby, but, as already mentioned, craigslist helps. Time is a large factor, too. A 150gal tank with a 8" aro, 3" dat, and school of seven 3" clown loaches might be nice, but if you take care of that setup for years, imagine how much more "exotic" it will look with all mature specimens at adult length. ie Invest time AND money.

Dunno. I search post history for you and I only see 4. You have a join date back in 2007 though.. I'm assuming you've made more than 4 posts? Might contact an admin about it.
