Are you A Fish Hoarder?? I think I’m real close…

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My wife thought I was going crazy with all of my tanks and fish so I showed her some of the pics on MFK... she might still think I'm going crazy but now she's a little more understanding now that she's seen that I'm not the only one. hahaha.

You have to be reasonable in fish keeping. Only take on what you can responsibly care for. I notice people take on too much then it becomes a chore then they are out of the hobby. This pattern is started with hanging out too much on MFK and similar sites and it turns into a contest who can get the most/better fish. Then you are not really keeping fish for the love of fish, it is more like trying to build a collection to impress people. You have to identify the things that influence you to keep buying fish and make a decision if all of it is really worth it. I am pretty happy with just the 2 tanks I have now and it doesn't matter to me what people think about it.

It is about responsibility too and priorities. I have other priorities than taking care of too many tanks to the point of exhaustion. Just not worth it.

I am a Fish Hoarder but only have 6 tank up.. and my mother think a 55 gallon is huge... :screwy:

I am a fish hoarder also, lol 24 tanks or something smallest being a 4x14x14 xD!!! I am even considering expanding into reptiles. my misses thinks I have actually lost the plot BUT when we go to a dam fish shop shes the one wanting all the little fancy fish its not fair =(

I would only call you a horder if you couldnt care for them all.. Since you seem able to do that Id say a very in depth hobbiest.

Sounds like paradise to me. I'm working my way there.

vid was taken during a water change so the waters a bit cloudy and low - But you get the point ;)

Just passed 3000 gallons of mostly plecos. I'm not a hoarder. It just takes a lot of each species to get breeding groups.
