I’ve got 3 five gallon buckets just filled with pvc fittings.

Six of my current aquarium are made from glass shelves I’ve scavenged along with making a few sumps for different folks.

I still have glass sheets stacked up behind my house.

Back in the day my first saltwater tank had a trickle filter sump made from those plastic drawer storage things.

I’ve been nearly thrown out of the house by the wifey for using our oven to heat acrylic to form it.

ive stopped traffic to pick up a piece of driftwood on the side of the road.

I’ve ruined more than a couple pairs of shoes to bail off into a creek to collect rocks and wood.

I suppose you could add “if you’ve ever” in front of all those statements.
But I’ve known for quite a few years now that I’m an aquarium redneck.

jjohnwm I have egg crate lids, Diy filter "Upgrades", bare 2x4 stands that were built for strength not looks. oh and I made this monstrosity

Had to make room for another couple tanks, there are those most important priorities.

PVC electric conduit sweeps...check
Polypropylene flex drain...check
Vinyl pool sweep hose...check
Styrofoam & white Ductape...check
Old glass from cracked tank...check
BBQ lava (in the Rubbermaid)...check
Bins of new/used fittings & hoses...check
Mostly from Lowe’s...check

Drilled 3” dia holes for ABS thru concrete board to outdoor filtration system...check

Tore down chimney & replaced fireplace
With wall of same concrete board, styrofoam, 2x4s & Home Depot “barnwood”, to accommodate multi-tank indoor/outdoor cascade system...check

Patio system sounds 99% quiet, then emits loud random gurgles...half check

It’s a regional pride thing. I’ve lived all over and they call it different things in different places. Everybody’s got it.
