I hope armatus.. I think it is but I'll be patient n see of any red develops.. I'll post more pics in a few days when he's fully settled in

its looks to be the type of tat that dosnt have a red tail. sorry i didnt see the thread sooner to tell u, but its deff a tat.
 
thanks joey I'll check it.. I'll take pics in the next couple days n post em.. He does have the little extender on the back fin n has the red concaved to black on the tiny top back fin as xander said. N ya ive seen the ones at rainbow this isn't from there
 
Buddy your fish is a tat. Ive kept all three species of Hydros and like alot of people here that have kept them are saying, it is a tat.

The jaw is upturned too sharply, the body is too small, tail too small, adipose matches the caudal, so on and so on.

Here is my baby armatus at 4". See how much beefier he is and how the adipose and caudal fin contrast with each other?
