okay I'll see if I can pick up a smaller size.

BTW I added another powerhead and some plants at the top, here is what it looks like now:
I will suggest you face the powerhead blowing across the tank rather than where you're facing it now.:)

Dunno I had 5 silvers in the same tank they all disappeared in one night lol No evidence, no fish around the tank no fish carcass in the tank, they just disappeared. it was just the silvers its crazy....

Okay so I replaced the one that died and have seven again.Unfortunately the new one will not eat and is getting weak and for that reason is getting picked on.

As far as the others go there is some aggression, but I don't know if its the type of aggression that even the most successful of aro communities goes through in the beginning stages or the type that only gets worse until a separation is in order.

There are a few missing scales and some torn fins, is that all part of the process?Did your aros go through the same thing?

About the 24/7 lighting, is that just highly recommended or is it considered imperative to a aro com working out?I have not been doing it because I have a BGK (fully nocturnal) but may give it a try since all my aros fighting is occurring at night.....each morning I turn the light on they look a little more beat up than when I turned it off.I figure starting today they are on a 24/7 lighting schedule but I don't know how long I should leave them on for, definitely not permanently.

any tips as far as the lighting and aggression are welcome....

Is it just me...because I cant see any arrows in the pics of your tank you posted.

Big tank, little silvers....look closer:)

Looking good, señor_p

You coud try the moonlight blue LEDs to remedy the 24/7 lighting problems

we are following the events..we are following!

just leave the lights turned on for 2 weeks :D

i think the tank is to big for such small aros they have to much space to form territorys

try putting a divider in the tank to cut down the tank size well thats what i was told but never done it

Well I'm not sure its going to work.:(

How much fighting is too much fighting?Almost all of them have shredded fins and a few have missing scales. But they all still eat well.:nilly:

Surely your silver aros fought at least a little bit,koji....miguel?

I have a few powerheads moving the surface quite a bit, but theres still 1 or 2 dead spots.

The 24/7 lighting worked for a few days but then they started right up again, now I have the lights off and they have been off for a few days but now they're getting comfortable with that.Seems like every time I change the lighting (on or off) they were stopping for a little while but now they aren't much phased and fight fairly regularly lights on or off.

I also added allot of plants but that just seemed to give them something to fight over, and unless you guys really think the plants are helping and I'm just not realizing it than I will probably be taking them out.

I havnt got a chance to find a divider this size or make one but I will try if you guys really think it will help.

What do you guys think?Does it sound like my aros aren't going to be getting along? Are they fighting too much? What should I do?Is seven not enough?I could try adding couple more maybe.....

relax Senor my friend.
Some missing scales and torn fins are normal.

As long as they're all eating and no one gets weak you should relax.

I never leave the tank light 24/7. At night I leave a lamp on, with a towel on top to dim it further, in the vicinity ( 2 metres away ) from the tank.

But the light is to avoid scaring them with darkness.

Mine always fought more with the tank lights on.

Don't fret. Don't get anxious.
