Can you see the scales above the lateral line?
This started from how the op has noticed the holes are a bit bigger and it got worse on the scales,hopefully ive stopped it with more wc but i dont know for sure.

You mean above the lateral line where the scales only look half there? Now I know what I'm looking at. I do see that.
My black has a spot where it looks like a scale has came off, there's a discoloration there, but his fin above it was also ripped, so I think he might have been nipped. It seems to be getting better. I didn't add anything to my tank, just did a ton of water changes.

Can you see how it looks like its sort of burnt away,its the same on both sides in the same place,and like i say probably for the last 3months ive been doing two 35%wc a week,and like i say i dont think its getting worse but cant be sure.

Hes not got any holes on his head at all,i know what hith looks like and i dont think its that,the holes on his lateral line are not getting worse,thay are jus more noyiceable like the op said.
The main damage is his scales above the lateral line,but its not stopped him eating and growing and his personality has not changed so he seems fine?
Il just keep up the wc and try to feed a bit less until they get their new tank.

instead of 35% weekly try 2 times weekly at 25% with the usual lil salt and higher temp. and go with mainly uncooked raw shrimp, if frozen thaw out. then dip it in garlic puree. and make sure you gut the shrimps poo........ this is what i did when mine had something close to this. it happened after transport and i thought it was from stress and injury. but mine was a jar. after 2-3 weeks it started going back to normal. ive notived with my arows they take a looong time to heal. especially their scales. i think they like to show off the war wounds. makes them look tough. hope this helps and good luck...btw when i feed raw gutted shrimp dipped in garlic extract` they seem to gain and glow. regards, laosy fish
and i have no idea what it is or called. and im not sure it will work for you but like i said i had something similar and i did the above. so if you try it and something happens im not held liable... :}
