arowana brings bad luck?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
there were logical reasons ex water param and stuff that gave u trouble with the fish u had after the arrowanas lol....

ive only heard of aro's being guardians of there owners and can take there lives to save the owners or benefit the owner financially. Ive only been saved once. LOL.

It depends if your superstitious or not. I'm chinese and buddhist so I'm quite superstitious. Certain Asian Aros bring different kinds of luck. Also depending on where u place their tank in your house will determine good or bad luck. Basically it's wether u believe in Feng Shui or not. Also in my religion if your asian aro dies it supposively brings bad luck to you but I don't know if this also refers to silvers/blacks/jardinis or not.

Since I was a little kid, Arowanas have always been around me. My friends mom had a very rare asian aro in california. I believe it was red of some sort being the most desirable arowana for business at the time. She even had a *Feng Shui (spelling?) master come to postion the aro tank for the most luck and fortune. Her business was thriving. They Moved near the beach, yatti, yatti, yatta. Everything was great.

However, the Chi Master warned her that if this aro ever dies (I did not hear anything bad about her future tanks rumor), then a very bad omen would come after. 5-6 or so years past and everything was great. Then, I am not sure how it died but the red asian died. She had a divorce. The business' had a rough time. Her son, my good friend got stuck to heavy drugs. Still a crackhead unfortunatly. This could be a result of the luck with and without an arowana. Or this could just be results of life being rough with its ups and downs. You be the judge.

I am a superstitous person so my judgement will go towards the bad luck that came after. I have not had an arowana ever before and I feel I know enough about the aquarium hobby to house them correctly with the proper water parameters. But I'm still hesitate cause of the luck that follows. My wife says I am crazy since she is not superstitous and wants me to have one in the near future. we'll see.

That's crazy. I have a similair story as well but not as devistating with the badluck like yours.

I have a friend who had 3 Asian Aros in seperate tanks. 1 x Chili red, 1 x Xback, and 1 x HBRTG. They all lived happy for 2 yrs and grew to about 18" long. He had good luck with his Dog breeding business and all(breeding American bullies). Making crazy money from it. Then one day his red died due to a power outage. Then his other 2 died due to the same reason. After that he had super bad luck. He got huge fines from the city for his dog breeding business cuz he didn't have a proper lisence to do it. Then 3 of his money making dogs died out of no where. In the end though most of this badluck was his fault but while the Aros were still alive he was ringing in the cash with no problems.

The last time i had any disposable cash of any amount was when i had my tank made and bought my RTG. I've looked after it, WCs every week, food all the time, you name it and i've done it to give it a happy home. It's 20 inches now, i bought it over 2 years ago. I've been proper skint since and had nothing but bad luck regarding income and cash flow.
Maybe i need to get rid of it, i had a good run before i bought the thing!!

Your badluck might regards to where u placed the tank? Which way it's facing in your house? All I know is it's not good to put your Asian Aro's tank facing front doors and it shouldn't be placed in your room. But I'm no expert on where it should be placed in your home. Maybe u should see a Feng Shui specialist and that may change your luck around.

^ it's not facing the door, it's in a corner adjacent to the front door. My wife is Buddhist, we've got blessed items in the house where they should be. The wife's mother is even more serious about Buddhism. if it was in the wrong place I'd be told.
I put my run of ban luck down to a global recession and bad luck. Not a fish tank.

I've heard that if someone's asian arowana dies, that means that it was preventing the owner from their own death.

^ anything to make it more expensive!!
