I've heard that if someone's asian arowana dies, that means that it was preventing the owner from their own death.

Yes there is somewhat a saying about this but more likely if your Aro dies all of a sudden it's preventing something bad that will happen to you. This also goes with buddhist bracelet beeds that u wear and if that breaks then it supposively prevented something bad that was going to happen to u.
