Arowana does not want to eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey, here's a video of him. So I lost 2. Once got sucked up the filter and the other one got stuck behind the wave maker. :(
He still hasn't eaten anything. I'm still concerned about him.

OMG, he's beautiful! I did see something on the video: he appears to have "drop eye" of right eye. Did you notice that too?
He's definitely not seeing those goldfish as food. IMHO all Arowana look depressed, so saying that isn't even valid. I'm gonna look up the drop eye; some say it may indicate infection/disease. You look it up too! Search Arowana diseases on this site or go to main page & ask to private chat with an administrator. I'm sure they could think of something.
I do hope he starts acting better. You say a prayer for my hound dog: I believe she may be getting ready to check out of this physical plane. She's a good girl; recovery may not be possible. Pray for her an easy & peaceful passing.
I'll check back Jay. Thanks!

Hunger strikes are not uncommon for ancient fish, particularly arowana. They can go some weeks (even months) without eating so don't fret too much. The fishes hunger will eventually overtake stubbornness.

Hello jay! After my own loss I'm back to an extent. How's Shyde? Did you look into the drop eye thing or talk with an admin here? I am sorry so absent; I hope your guy is better. He's indeed a wonderful fish.
Let me know how he (& you) are/is doing. My Goldfish Posse aren't 19" , but they're getting huge! Definitely not feeder fish anymore! If there's anything I can think of will let you know.

Hello! So here’s the update for Shybe! Eating normally again. But now I only feed every other day. The drop eye was from the previous owner. It’s due to leaving food on the bottom of the tank. Their eyes are always looking up, but sometimes if food just sits in the bottom often, one of the eyes will be stuck in that position. There’s no way to reverse it. ?? But I’m happy he’s eating again. Thank you and everyone else for helping out. ???

I'm so glad he's eating! Did he gobble up his tank mates or did they go by attrition? Anyway, glad if I just by helped until he could feel better. Loved the video; that looks like a healthy Arowana.?✌???
