OK, LFS that shall go nameless had a small aro in a tank with bicher. If you read my earlier threads you know I have a little experience with this. I rescued the little guy for 20 bucks. He happily eats crickets by hand. I attended a Classical guitar master class at Wayne State University. I met an Ichyologist there. He now collects rare fish. I called him and he suspects the freeze dried kril may have messed up his digestive system. In the wild they eat mainly insects at this age. So...crickets and the occasional fly will be the rule for now. occasional brine shrimp or small fish like would not hurt but we'll play it safe for now.
putting another filter in the tank would be a little much. This filter is quite strong, another one would make it like a river. Although the one seemed to like to play in the current, the others avoided it. I think the red tail shark is a little too playful, and his constant chasing of the bala's bothers the arowanas. I went back to the fs they have a seven inch. He's skinny. they put a few goldfish in there, and he wouldn't eat. I told them to try crickets. no luck. I didn't buy. No other stores inthe area have one save Oceans and seas. They have two 8 inch blue arowanas. Blue arowanas?
they look like some kind of silver, with darker fins. $300.00 thats 25% off!!. They've been in the tank for 4 weeks. they obviously eat. I'll transfer the red tail shark to another tank. Maybe find one on craigs list. I crushed the blue gill yesterday. Yum!!.
i have 3 fx5s on my 300. just split the flow more or have the flow pointed towards a side so it defuses it
