Great buy, I saw these on Aquarist Classifieds also. What a bargain you got .
Like said before dither fish will calm things down a bit so try larger shoaling fish such as silver sharks, silver dollars and tinfoil barbs.
i think i got the bargain of a lifetime and i will deffonatly get some barbs to go in with them then, someone also told me that if i feed the mealworms carrot it will help with the colour in the chilli red does anyone know if this is true?
Yes the carotene in the carrot will be transfered to the arowana's once fed to the mealworms. The carrots will also provide the mealworms with water, keeping them hydrated giving them a longer shelf life provided you change the carrot everyday.
I believe T1karmann injects or feeds his mealworms with spirulina to increase the gold in his arowana's.

Carrot not worth the hassel, morios will live for months on just dry foods, feed them bug grub and range of fish foods to gut load them up. This is my red which only ate morios but now on lobs too. No tanning either. Good luck, I even thought of buying them.
ill keep the lights to a minimum for now as they are alot calmer when they are off and ill get some worms for them tomorow had 1 or 2 of them eating locust and mussel already so im pleased with that.

Beautiful aro! I wish my red looked like that, she is barely showing any red on her gills and even that is more orange than red. What are morios and lobs? My aro eats shrimp, sw and the occasional pellet (she's been on a hunger strike for 3 weeks though). I've never kept a community of aros as it would be too hard to see them nipping fins all the time (I worry enough with just one aro).

Morio's are superworms, which are just a larger version of mealworms. The morio nickname is just a short brieviation of its latin scientific name. Lobs are lob worms which are the really large worms you find in your backgarden which look like earthworms.
If shes on a hunger strike try feeding crickets. I've heard lots of accounts where people say they never refuse them and they used them to get their arowana's feeding again.
