easy there captain america. keep trying, lemme know how it works out for you. if you had a shred of common sense, youd waste your time on something more valuable. trying to legalize a fish is gonna get you nowhere. you cute little letters are going straight into the trash. stop dreaming and wake up
spoken like someone, truly ignorant of how much work it takes to get stuff done. if everybody gave up like you there would be no religion, no organized communities, no prohibition then re-legalization of alcohol(wait what  i thought once it was illegal it stays illegal).
as soon as you give up you have no power. so i know i have very little power, but you have none.;)

written to my congressman about the problems of the esa not recognizing the pet trade as a way to enhance a species population, like cites does. he said he would remember the points i brought up if the legislation appears that would allow obtainment or breeding of animals listed on the endangered species act.
not a yes but i do believe he would vote in favor if the legislation was reasonable. now to get legislation up for a vote thats the hard part that im unsure of how to begin . im think it would great if i could create a website like nohr669, with the prewritten letters you could send to your congressman.

oh i also signed a few petitions but doubt those have really gotten anywhere.

btw the letter took 3 weeks to get back to, usually i receive his reply in 3-4 days, his staff probably had to actually ask him lol

ive also talked to a federal biologist about it, he believed the best way of going about it is to convince the DSA(department of scientific authority) that it wasnt necessary to list that species in the ESA. I dont have nearly enough material together and i do believe it will be difficult since they are endangered. however its redundant as ESA also makes the US part of cites and cites lists the the asian arowana as appendix 1.

The OP is trolling and this thread has spiraled into a p**sing match over nothing.
I feel sorry that the state side fish keepers are not allowed to own asians. The way it looks to me is a catch 22. They would never be considered un-endangered unless numbers increase in natural water ways in developing countries. The people who could facilitate this would never agree to do it because it would eat into their industry and profits.
Even if they did agree to help re-populate water ways in Asia with the lowest spec farm bred fish, the fish wouldn't be there long due to a myriad of reasons such as low immunity, lose of instincts and the worst one of all, local people fishing for food and to make a quick buck. It is possible to catch and keep fish of all types alive and ship them all over. They do it here to help keep fishing park stocks up.

nice. so what do you think you have HONESTLY achieved out of this?

not much yet. i have a feeling i could achieve alot more if had enough money to make a sizable donation to some politicians pocket, and get him to sponsor legislation.

edit: im more perturbed at the esa lack of foresight, and the gov't all or nothing approach to banning. with the majority of bans not even allowing permits for educated individuals. this really isnt about the asian aros anymore.
