Ok. I just spoke with some of the "upper" leadership here. And this is what I learned.
I guess we are doing this in certain areas. However...... supposedly is should have little to no impact on your current bill, sometimes, I have been told, the new service is actaully cheaper. Also the service is really a forced upgrade. Your speeds should be faster. It is my understanding that they are not forcing the entire UVERSE serice on you, but just replacing whatever service you currently use. I agree that it should be more seamless, but it doesn't sound like you would be losing anything. We are upgrading our network in general, in an effort to stay up to date. Most like ly your service will be provided by fiber to our node now inplace of the old copper feed.

I know what they were trying to do...but if they want to do that and suspend their service to make a point, at least have a 24 hour service line available. Both my wife and I are engineers and work from home at night often. Who is going to compensate us for the time lost?
Again, having no recourse last night to turn on service when it is not equipment/line fault nor a billing issue is something I have to consider when considering whether to stay with
ATT or going to other alternatives.
