The congolli (Pseudaphritis urvilli) is also listed as the tupong and according to fish base is found in slow streams and estuaries in SE Australiaand Tasmania. That hum head fish thing is one of the weirdest things i have ever seen!
Ive never even heard of them before.......
But i love my Aussie natives too, i want to start a rainbow fish tank so that i can show all the colours, they look awesome!

I did that once.

It bored me though.

Then you drop in a barramundi, heheh.

Yeah I toyed around with an Aussie rainbow tank, had a few rainbows and the desert goby etc.. good for a display tank and pretty to look at, especially for non fish fanatics. But I'm a big fish person :naughty:

The only reason I have 2 angels at the moment is because I had not been living where my tank was kept, so I figured if I bought a couple of fish that my sister liked(she was living in the house with the tank) then she might pay more attention to the basic maintence - it didnt work and know I am back living with the tank and I'm stuck with the 2 Angels :( I would give them back to the aquarium shop but my house mate doesnt want me too, she thinks they would be happier in our tank then back at the aquarium shop, she is probably right but it doesnt help me! :(

So now I'm looking for a 6'x2'x2' tank to house my Murray Cod sooner than anticipated before he eats the Angels, he's starting to harass them already.

gday,i had a tandanus cat that grew super fast cause it ate like a pig! it was like a vacuum cleaner when it came to feed time.it hit 14'' in no time.had a sleepy cod many years ago which was my fav fish at the time, good eater and stalker when feeders where present.

i got a khaki grunter the other day

I have a sleepy cod, some sort of eel tail cat but i forget exactly which sp, and a jardini at the moment. We have some very cool Aussie natives but the problem is getting them. The fish i own, barras, a few catfish, archers, perch, murray cod, bass and a few gudgeon species is all that is commonly available. I have been trying to get my hands on some sort of native Gar for ages with no succes. We also have a species of monster shovelnose cat in Qld i think that i have never seen for sale or even heard of in the trade. Australia sucks for fish. Its a joke that we arent aloud to keep whatever we want. They should set up a licence system like what we have for reptiles and birds.
