Does that mean I'd be a little :screwy: to think about trying to find a pair and breed them? Do people like not like them or just can't find them?

I'd say it's got more to do with their tank arrangements. You need a big tank just for single specimens, and most people would rather go for the largish Parachromis or even smaller Americans and have a community.

I think they are a great fish!
My mate has one, and he is crazy about them.
He would love to breed them, but tank size is an issue. Plus, selling the fry would be hard.

sweet as, just got the umbee for now? isn't any good places in toowoomba for fish at all unfortunatly :(

I have another community tank with
Jack Dempsey, 3 Rainbow cichlids (A. Multispinosa I am reliably informed), 2 Firemouths, 2 silver sharks, half a dozen or so bristlenose (I assume just common) and a shortneck murray turtle.

That tank's a bit of a strange mix - mostly leftovers from other experiments. I was breeding the bristlenose for a while, the sharks just never seem to die and the cichlids are still part of a central/SA community tank plan for the big future.

My hose kinked a little when we moved from melbourne up to Toowoomba. There just ain't enough water around these parts for a lot of water changes ... so ... I'm still working on a new plan for Ron.:naughty:
