I think my friend caught some at the Murray River when it was still warm.. We are goin again as soon as it gets hot again.. yea they are cool looking fish.. try to get lucky and get the Red or Blue/Green ones.

I've only got 2 cyrtocara mooriis and an aulonacara stuartgranti at the moment in a 22L tank while my 170L cycles. Here's a bad picture of one of em. He was freaked out by the camera.

What fish you planning to keep Lowisuzu? alot of aquariums in canberra? Oh your lucky cause you can just drive to Syd if anything or melb ay! And on the way driving to Syd or Melb.. you can find a piece of driftwood!!

i think im going to give african cichlids a go.
got my eye on some astatotilapia burtoni, and maybe a school of Yellow lab's to start off with.

got the new tank coming in this thursday arvo, so i will be starting on the tank cabinet this weekend, then i think im going to make a sump for it too, i like the idea of having heaps of filtration, plenty of bio media, and a high turnover of filtered water. i would like to keep my heater in there too, i want the least cluttered tank as possible.

i know quite a few people with aquariums around here, but most of them are like those AquaOne full setups u get from the LFS. i think i can save myself a heap of cash by building a lot of the stuff i need myself for next to nothing.

my mate has a fantastic piece of driftwood he found at a local stream, im so jealous.

there are a few LFS here, not many do any fish that u wouldnt find at ANY LFS tho unfortunately. i think i will be ordering my fish from elsewhere, have them posted to me.
see what happens after i get the tank cycled.

I picked up my new tank last night. Its a 8x2x2 foot. I just need to put cabinet doors on the stand and I'm good to go. The barra should be happy enough in there for the next little while, until I get my own house at least and I can build a pond.

Yea sounds really good and about that AquaOne combo thingy im not a big fan of that aswell cause you are limited with the stuff you gonna get and have.. So its really a good idea that you are making it yourself.. I got cichlids at my work and they are breeding, actually feels good to get them all grown up asif its your own kids.. hahaha.

~Theo~ that is the perfect tank for me.. I just wished i got that instead of a 6x2x2 cause now i just wana go bigger and i had a chance to get an 8x2x2 and it would of been cheaper and it woulda had a trickle aswell.. Goodluck with tha Barra.. Im thinkin' of gettin a Barra aswell.. would suit my tank.

Just picked up my tank and brought it into the house, the 5x2x2 is perfect, maybe a bit too deep tho, i measured up a spot for it, but u cant really tell how its going to look until u have the thing IN the house set up.

going to the hardware store tomorow to buy timber to start on the cabinet.
just gotta find a cheap tank i can convert into a sump.

The Journey Starts.
