Australian Fishing

Thanks for starting a great thread, it was a very good read-through. It's pretty amazing to see what is considered native in Australia's fresh waters. I always see shows on tv covering the barrier reef and salt-water species, never fresh water.

I can see very well why the Sceropages leichardti fish has become your favorite, AussieMonsters. What an incredible looking fish, I can only imagine fighting one on the end of a line. The colors and scales on the fish you are holding are beautiful, the scales remind me very much of those on a Arowana. Great stuff, thanks for posting some great fish and stories about the local hazards ie crocs and bull sharks.

It is an arowana. Its a cousin of the silver arowana.
 
Been getting a few Drew? Bass fishing has been great since the big overflows down here Rivers are are going off at the moment. Heres a couple of recent Yella's (Golden Perch) for something different. A nice fat one from the yak and one that a Bullshark got its share of.
