Azra’s 90-gal Thread

Hey y’all!

This will be the thread where I post updates about my 90 gallon aquarium! I just obtained the tank a few days ago, and got the entire setup for just $300! The setup includes:

- 90 Gallon tank with lids
- Stand with built in outlets
- Cycled Fluval FX6 Canister Filter
- LED Lights
- 300 watt remote controlled heater
- Air pumps
- Cycled filter media, substrate and fake decorations

Going to use the decorations and substrate to help cycle the tank, but then I’m going to give it my own look. I plan on giving it a sandy substrate with some driftwood and a couple of rocks as the hardscape, then I’ll put some easy plants in. I plan on using Java ferns, Anubias, Amazon Swords, Hornwort, some floaters, and maybe some more!

As for the stock, I’ll be stocking the tank with my Senegal bichir “Arsenio” that I purchased a few days ago at my LFS, which is holding the little guy for me, my Bristlenose pleco “Franc Sinatra”, a leopard bush fish, and 5 Keyhole cichlids!

I’ll start cycling the tank once the room it is in is being painted, and I’ll be posting updates here!

(will post pictures of tank once it’s set up as the room it’s in it a mess due to painting, but here’s the filter and heater!)

Here we go! Pictures of all the tankmates! They’re on hold for me at my LFS until my tank is cycled (the tank of which is being set up tonight, stay tuned) and are all little babies!

Here’s Arsenio! He’s a Senegal bichir and to my knowledge is at least a month old!


The Leopard Bush Fish! Super shy as far as I can see, but is so beautiful!


They Keyhole cichlids! Not the best picture, but all 6 of them are pictured here! They are SO baby and little!

Everyone is very smol, and I can’t wait to watch them grow up!! Will post pics of the tank once tank is full and clear!!

It begins!

My ammonia to cycle the tank came in today, and it has been dosed! I used Dr Tim’s, as pictures below.

Right after dosing the appropriate amount, (a lot of drops) I tested for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate, and here are the results! Looking good so far! I’ll be testing the water again at 9:30 tomorrow night, so stay tuned!
