here's another

Eeee... Black Arowana PLATINUM BODY ???? What is this... Never saw something like that... Maybe hybrid silver/black :))))))))))))))))

This one looks like Silver... It's not exactly like mine was... but... hmm... strange, very weird :(

I heard only about a silver arowana variation known as "Snow arowana" or "Platinum arowana" caused by leucism (reduced pigmentation), but never about BLACK PLATINUM AROWANA ;)

This is a Silver Platinum Aro... when is older is more white, and they are very expensive !!!

There has been at least one adult black platinum that has been posted here. I'll see if I can find the thread... And btw, leucism is a complete lack of melanin (black pigmentation), not just reduced melanin.

That is true Brian :) But the black that I posted lost a yolk sack just couple days before the picture was made.

On the first picture that you posted the Arowana looks for me more like silver not black... :)

I never had small Aro with yolk sack. My Black Aro had 5-6in when they arrived to my place. But I have silver Arowana with yolk sack when I was in Poland (7 years ago), and he looks similar with pictures that I posted and both your photos.

It is really confuse for me ;))) Are you sure that on the first picture is a Black Arowana ?

And this is why I'm still arguing my point, easy for people to just come along a say "oh yeah, duh those are silvers anyone should know that". Very common to mistake one for the other. Yes the picture I posted is of a black aro within a few days of loosing the yolk sack. I had a total of 5, one was missing an eye and the only one I took a pic of right away. Though I did grab a pic while still in the shipping box (see below) The picture DF8 recently posted looks like a black aro with yolk sack.

I give up, I can't find the thread, but I'm sure quite a few other members on this thread have seen it.

lol wishfull thinking huh Brian.... I did notice that the pic you have I am assuming they are stressed from shipping. They are very lightly colored, really throws off the all black thing. I'm not gonna get my hopes up that they are blacks but I think only time will tell. That is if I can keep them alive long enough to find out.

Yeah I remember that thread, he posted a brief couple pics and then never followed up. I think it's the same guy that has a 1200g 16' long tank or something near that. I'll search.
