Nice! Keep us uodate, thank you.

The pair in the planted tank did not fight?

They just seem to tolerate each other, they do each have their own side of the tank though. Most I've seen from these two is an occassional fin nip. Wish I could get all four to co-hab together, maybe try a bigger tank in the future.

They are so beautiful and already how they have grown.. all of them eating good.. or is there one or two you have to cater too more... what a great adventure in raising arows.... hope success all the way...

Im sure you know- but I have to say it- those two cohabs could go for blood any time- well fed, giant tank, whatever- I had gotten three and they were always shoaling not even a nip to speed up the group- and then one day- one was beat to death, and one was beat hard and ended up dying- all I have now is the victor- just to remind you

Yes there is always a risk. Though these two have been together for 6 weeks in a heavily planted 55g. Your's were crammed into a 20 gallon for less then a week, not sure the comparison is valid.

I hardly think that three 2 1/2" arowana in a 20g long is crammed- as a matter of fact, as juveniles its better to keep them in a smaller area,to make it easier for them to find their food, I thought you would have known something so remedial-
I originally only posted as a reminder- I didnt realize how naive you are, six whole weeks, it looks like you better get the balloons out- because you obviously are throwing a party for yourself and your arowanas who will clearly live in harmony forever and probably breed and all of their offspring will also live peacefully together-
But as gullible as you are, Im sure the validity of my comparison of multiple black arowanas in one tank being risky doesnt completely escape you- as a matter of fact my first post mentioned that the tank size and amount of food offered wouldnt matter, the fact remains they can be violent to each other at any time
Hopefully when your arowanas do fight you will still put it up as a reminder to everyone else that not only will baby black arowanas fight, but also that blowhards, such as yourself, are not the same as authorities on any given subject
if you feel like Ive just talked down to you- thats because I did... when you stop being a know-it-all and want to talk like a gentleman, then you can come up to my level

Very well said from someone who's experience raising arowna obviously eclipses that of my own.

Sorry Liz I passed on your question. All four aro are eating quite well, their main staple is the broken cichlid gold pellets. Funny thing is I bought the mini pellets and the won't have anything to do with them:screwy: They are also eagerly eating the freeze dried mysis shrimp and freeze dried blood worms.

8,000 posts doesnt mean you have experience with arowanas- it means you dont get out enough-
Id be glad to discuss arowana experience with you, Ive consistently had arowanas since the late 70s- yes I know it means Im old, but it also means I have experience in arowana husbandry-
just a reminder- the reason I posted in the first place was to help you- I obviously didnt know that your experience level "eclipsed" mine so vastly- if I had known that you had more experience than my meager 30 years in the aro hobby, I still might have posted- but just to be friendly- BUT, if only I had the forsight to know of your arowana omnipitance, I certainly wouldnt have dared to post on your thread- I would have just basked in the warmth of your arowana wisdom-
but at least I got to see you use the favorite smily of teenage girls across the land- the ROFL- they like it cuz its fun and helpful!

Sure thing . Before I take advise from anyone I take a look and get an idea if they know WTF they are talking about or not. It didn't take long, after reading what you did with those 3 baby blacks, to make up my mind of what to do with your advise.

Oh and just for you
