Baby BN plecos

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have had 2 more spawns. One I left in the main tank as I was heading out of town on vacation. The second I just pulled this week. I also noticed that one of my BNP Green Dragon featherfin females looked gravid so I added 4 watering spike caves to their tank. There are multiple males in the tank so hopefully there will be some kinky news to follow. I ordered the watering spikes from Amazon on the recommendation of another pleco breeder. They measure roughly 6.5in long with a 1.5in opening. 10 spikes cost $30.

I sold maybe 4 dozen 1-2in to my lfs. I kept 3 albinos. Here is one that is growing well

They are a great little clean up crew, the 65b is algae free.

I was given a standard BNP male with some red tint and an albino female that I added to my 120g. I notice the male trapping a female on Wednesday (IIRC) but I didn't see any eggs yesterday. I check at lunch time and the new male is sitting on a clutch. Time from introduction to tank to eggs 3 days. The ratio in that tank is 1:2 both females being albino. Pics in work.

The new guy

I thought I had moved all the fry from the collection container but I found one left. 9 days chillin'. Now in the 29g planted to help with algae clean up.

I have a male and female in the 220g. The male has dug under the left side of the rock. I noticed the green sev trying to get under the rock where I could see the male. I grabbed a flashlight and the male is guarding fry. The egg sack is all gone so these are over a week old.
