Yeah. Ive been searching for about 3 months. I finally found some in a lake near me after 2 hours of wading in theick vegitation through swampy coves. They came out of nowhere. Suddenly there was just a big black bubbling ball right next to me. I got attacked by the daddy too.
 
These fish are really growing fast. Most are around an inch now with a few being almost two. I have a really strong pump for a 20 gallon in there (about 150 gph) and they love to swim against the current. I love it because it gives them exersive and uses up all those worm peices im feeding them. They eat ALOT.
 
Fed them heavy today. There were a few scraps left that I scooped out. I did a 60% water change today because I will be gone for four days. My freind is gunna feed them but I don't trust him to do water changes right. The only fish he's kept we're goldfish and they died. No fatalities today. They are fat, happy, and healthy. Do you think they can go 4 days without a water change?

Yes. because of your good filtration.....have you thought about grindal worms and scuds

Okay cool, im glad i went with heavy filtration. I've never heard of grind all worms, and I didn't think about scuds. Where could you get scuds? Does Sachs have them?
 
Sigh. I just found out that the person that is feeding my fry decided to give them store bought guppys. I think they are too big to eat for most of the bowfin and are full of parasites. Do y'all think they will be okay? I get back tomorrow so I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
 
Even if they can't eat them they will make it.. You can always treat for parasites when you are back and you see anything bad.

I'm more worried about them eating them and getting parasites. I'll treat them when I get back.
