Baby bowfin grow out thread

They should b fine...most wild fish pick off the sick/dieseased ones naturally and i also think it was rather nice he gave them a "treat" while u were away. I am a firm believer in live feeders from time to time. Feeders are good for growing fish imo. For example when growing gar i stuff them full just about every day until they hit 10-12" and start accepting other foods.

I feed them feeders every once in a while but they are gambusia I raise my self.
 
Sigh. I just found out that the person that is feeding my fry decided to give them store bought guppys. I think they are too big to eat for most of the bowfin and are full of parasites. Do y'all think they will be okay? I get back tomorrow so I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

I wouldn't worry about it "why itch when you cant scratch', hopefully they'll just keep em company :), You can buy scuds from sachs , or catch em from a creek in vegetation, theyre real easy to breed and nutritious for your fish; grindal worms are also real easy to keep and young fish love em (at least sunfish do).
