Bullhead catfish are not generally stocked in ponds, but do arrive occasionally as extras. I would be willing to bet that he is talking about channel Cats, or possibly blue catfish.

spotted catfish can be found from time to time as extra's in ghost shrimp shipments that is where i got mine from.

if you really want one I would go and talk to any LFS in about an hour drive, and give them a picture of one and have them call you if they get one in a ghost shrimp shipment. I have seen 2 in the past year. I think both came from a fish farm on the GA/FL line. (where they are native)
Black, yellow, and brown bullheads also show up as extra's

I was not even sure about exactly what I had until recently, I had it narrowed between a flat bullhead and a spotted

here is a picture

before you get any fish make sure you can house it and read up on it so you can properly care for it

I'm not completely sure what you have is a spotted bullhead, It seems to like the dark edges on it's fins.

o ok i get it now so would it b okay if i put some in my fish tankk since they r already stunted?

Bad idea, it doesnt mean that they will stay stunted forever. Also you ignored Zoodiver's post too. That means you cannot collect these fish from the waterways.

One thing Gar Man might want to consider while doing all of this is the Iowa state law regarding catching and keeping live fish from the wild.

There are legal hoops to jump through in order to do it within the law.
I only say thins after seeing suggestions of hand catching, netting and trapping... which are prohibited in most cases in that state.

Right from the DNR's regualtions

One even needs a state permit to stock there own pond since there are requirements that need to be met to insure stocked fish aren't getting mixed into established wild populations.

ok ive decided to get rid of my natives and turn that tank into a trpocial tank could i put a banjo catfish in there and if i can what do you feed them and stuff

And your the one posting 1000 threads about keeping gar and largemouths. He was making a joke. And how did you manage to turn your tank into tropical and give them all away?Unless you released them into local waterways. In which you probably did.Your fish were stunted, your tank was overstocked, and you just throw off every answer given to you.Its people like you that won't listen to what anyone has to say unless they agree with you.Now I have translated my post for you here:Andddddd ur teh 1 p0stig 1000 threaDDS abbt gar n lrgemth LoOOLloll0;.Jok :) make lol aknjnasjKNJAS ROFLCOPTER BBQ
