Hi
I noted in your first post that you had added salt - this fish is a truly freshwater fish, so will not be comfortable in brackish water long term. Great to hear it's feeding and that it sn't the monster you initially thought it was.
Regards
Martin

In my last post I mentioned he's living with the discus. So, there is no salt in the water and its a combination of 1/3 dechlorinated tap water and 2/3 R/O. I watched his behavior carefully even when I didn't know what he was. I did actually have him into water conditions that he looked happy and comfortable in before he was ID'd; poor little guy was so unhappy with my initial mistakes.

As for his feedings, he gets served a buffet: massivore, sinking wafers, tetra bits, sinking cichlid pellets, blood worms, tilapia, krill, etc. Anyways, he LOVES massivore and cichild pellets. I weaned him off the live food and once he tried the massivore (actually I think it was initially was sinking carnivore pellets) I was set. I have him, several plecos, knife fish, discus and flagtails (yes I know the risk of them eating the discus' slime coats and have kept a close eye out for any naughty behavior. Also, they will be moved as soon as I have the other tank up and cycled) hanging out together for the time being. Everyone looks relaxed and is, for now, a good size together. The discus are big and no one is large enough to bother them. They rule the tank. This little guy almost looks like he would like to school with someone now an again. He follows the discus around with his feelers out. He doesn't harass them, but I don't think they want to be followed by him. I'm looking into that behavior. Maybe he's just practicing for when he's bigger and those discus could be lunch.

Sounds great! Glad everything turned out well for you! I love happy endings that involve catfish!

Sorry  That will teach me to read each post in detail first.
Glad it all worked out in the end.

No worries. Saying that they are with discus only really addresses water conditions to people who know what water parameters discus live in. Also I know people who try to keep discus in all sorts of weird water parameters and then claim they're super fragile. He loves his new home, although I had a pH crash last week when the filter got jammed (knew my investment in several large sponge filters and power heads would pay off. No doubt deaths would have happened that day otherwise.) His eyes have a bit of white on them (looks like the ulcers we would see on the animals we would get in our hosiptal. They are small pin prick white spots and they haven't spread. He seems to be fine though. He ate like a pig last night as always and didn't seem uncomfortable at all. I'll try and get a picture up today.

All 3 of my cats ,two rtc's and a rtc x tsn and a tsn all took 7 to 10 days to start eating. Just keep the water good and it will come around.

Ok, hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but please read a thread before posting! Help is always appreciated, but the eating thing has been fixed for a while. ;)
