Yea, thats what im saying...He finds it surprising enough so that he has to ask if its normal for a jar to fight, that sounds like no homework to me.

He didn't ask if it's normal for a jar to fight, or found it surprising for a jar to fight! :screwy: He just wanted to know if they hurt each other, and if they eventually stop fighting. Gotta learn how to read!

If you separate them, once you remove the divider, they'll still fight. Datnoid is very good at defending itself. Right now, your dat is almost the same size of your Jar, so there's more chance the Dat kills your Jar, not the other way around. However, the dat won't go seek the Jar to fight. It's the Jar that comes to the dat, but once he realizes he can't bully the dat, he'll start to accepting the dat. If you really want to keep them together, you may want to let them sort it out and know each other better. You must keep an eye to make sure they don't hurt each other too bad, and separate them if such thing happen. No pain no gain, but you need to know the limit, and intervene, since you're the only one who can see them and make decision. Good luck!

i know jardinis are agressive but i read that datnoids are good tankmates w jar when there both young , so i bought my first datnoid that did get along with evil jar but i returned him because he was very dull and had lots of missing stripes. found another one in china town very stable and yellow but time jardini is not too happy??

chao jinguyen74 wow seems like you know alot about them cause what you said is exactly whats happening, but to me it seems that the datnoid is scared of the jardini and always trys to swim away from it.

Chao! I'm still learning, but I keep both aros and datnoids, so I know some about both of their characters. Datnoid rarely go pick a fight on other fish, so as long as you have a piece of drift wood, or something for hiding spot, datnoid can take care of itself from the Jardini
