Curious to see it once the water and the lap settles in, ive been looking for a red sand myself, thats why i went for garnet sand, but i want a bright red sand similar color to my old red gravel.

Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 yeah it was a pain to wash but its now clearing up fairly quickly. if it clears up really well i might add some to my main tank, not sure how it would mix in with my sand now with the grain size difference. might need to test the two together in one of my other tanks first

IMG_8087.JPG Update on the growout tank. Little guy is doing great and growing steadily. Fairly shy when the light is on but seems to really enjoy the sand and plants. Tank is kept around 82-84 and filtered with 2 sponge filters, one is actually 2 stacked on top of eachother and running in series. He's got a little army of ghost shrimp to keep him well fed and eats tiliapia and bloodworms nightly. Tank also houses 2 1" SA bumblebee cats to clean up the extra food he misses and will house a 1.5" striped Raphael when I pick him up next week
