only for the info and pictures stolen from me (see the top of this forum) they even forgot to remove some of my references. stolen from datnioides.com my old site.
Quality pic and tiger Koen, shame they had to steal pics and info.
Anyway back to the main point.
For a few years we the Datnoid community accepted that D pulcher also came from Cambodia hence the CT nickname (not controversial tiger i hate this term).
The majority of the D pulcher being shipped around the world before the collapse of these fish being for sale were from Cambodia.
Most of the CT had the true look of the Thai D Pulcher although more and more seemed to have some D microlepis traits.
Due to water quality issues and the influence of man in the Mekong where these fish were supposedly collected they became pretty much impossible to find, i've always hoped this would change if the area was left alone and these fish allowed time.
Anyway i don't think it's impossible that true D pulcher can be found elsewhere along the the Mekong i'm sure there will be fish be it in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia possibly and hopefully even in Thailand.
Do these supposedly Vietnamese D pulcher come from the south or from tributaries running from Thailand into Vietnam, instead of questioning each other we need to question the suppliers and find out where they are coming from. i know they won't confirm exactly where but at least some idea.
People also need to remember that like D microlepis who seem to have a few different variants due to locality which everyone seems to acknowledge as fact then why can't D pulcher.
The main problem as i stated before is this are these Vietnamese Datnoids actual D pulcher, forget ST,CT as this is a mute point are they pulcher and where are they from.
Another thing that bothers me is this, have they gave up trying to breed these fish and decided to look elsewhere, if so this could lead to the end of these fish completely.
