haha This cycle better hurry huh? They gave me a sandwich size ziplock 1/2 full of aquarium gravel out of one of their big display tanks so I should be good to go soon. Maybe I'll see a nitrite dip tomorrow?Yeah that's what I'm saying! Why are you still quoting my posts go get them man!

yeah I saw that too. I've never had a cycle take this long. The ammonia method I use works like a charm every time. Couple weeks faster.
Funny you say that. Almost 2 weeks ago I tossed in an entire bottle of https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/microbe-lift-special-blend-aquarium-bacteria
lets just say that's probably why I'm suffering with a nitrite stall. Nitrites are sky high and haven't budged.
Today is day 29 of the cycle btw. Normally I'd be at the end of the cycle.
Worked for meGrab a small bottle of safestart and some giant danios.
unfortunately I haven't. I haven't had time to go back to the store. I need to get the safestart and make sure it lowers my nitrite levels first. They at 5 ppm right now which is awful. I just check it and it hasn't budged since yesterday when I added a ton of established media to my canister.

You can smell the chlorine in the water when you wash your hands. It's really bad here because of the damage from the storms. One neighboring city is on a boil water notice.
So I'm hesitant to buy fish right now.
Keep in mind the safestart will need a continuous LOW ammonia source....fish would be ideal. Just do a massive wc before adding fish/tss
This is the wrong answer! Ropes is the correct one.If I get a chance I'll do that today and put in feeder fish to test it.
