I think the blue looks better of the two, but sorry, out of respect for my ocd tendencies I won't vote until theres three pics to compare.
 
You should put some rock work or plants in there :D just my opinion.

Ya I thought about it. For the rocks I probably won't do it due to having stingrays and trying to give them as much swimming floor space as possible. Also I know my stingrays will uproot the plants with ease and will be a pain to fix them. Maybe I'll try floating plants.

I have a black on my 29, blue on my 75...I always thought I liked black better, but I'm finding my tastes leaning toward the blue these days.

Sorry I don't have an updated picture of my tank without a background but I do have an old one with black gravel.




Old picture with black gravel and 2 pieces of DW before I changed substrate to sand. Hope this helps with the 3rd option.

Thought this was another what color background is best question that pops up all the time...so i answered before seeing your pics :(
Your fish def look better with the blue though!
 
The blue is a bit too brite, I would go with blue only a darker shade.
