Back ground color Black or blue?

Blue!!!! I had the same problem, Black or Blue!!! I have mine in Blue cause the fish come out better...

have you tried moving the lights forward with the blue?

I voted black but upon further consideration I think it comes down to the light... dimmer light blue is better since it brightens the tank up IMHO. If you plan to increase light go black though.

Ya my lighting is a bit bright for the blue. I'm using 2 x 4' T5 HO light fixtures using Geissman super white bulbs.

Ok I tried placing my lights more forward towards the front of my tank. Looked the same to me...I think I might try LED lighting later on. My current lighting is just too bright for the blue. It sure does make my fish's color stand out more which is making me not want to go back to black lol.
