Back to the Basics: Best Ray Food

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I find it hard to believe that you Brits can't find massivore in 1 kg packages. Would save you some $$!

read the bag of 1kg hikari pellet it says FOR TRADE USE ONLY NOT FOR RESALE

of course we can get them sent from the US but the £ was weak now its strong again but its the shipping that kills i need to order 4kg to make shipping worth it so 4kg still works out at $250 and its only massivore thats worth shipping as i get 4 x 380g pack of gold for £30

the gold is good as the rays then get some veg something they dont get frome sea foods or earthworms

Any one from uk used the pellet on eBay called DAS sinking tablet, looks very similar to massivore pellet but I cnt find much out about it, apart from alot cheaper then massivore ??

Yeah, it gets expensive.

What I meant by "green stuffs" is something like spirulina...I have seen a few posts about rays eating plants and my female rasps alage off rocks much like a catfish, she leaves teach marks. Anyone else feeding something vegetable based?

I was adding spirulina and chlorella to my gel food, but it seems to leave poor results. The gel food is not as solid and hard to deal with and extrememly messy when they are added. Maybe the powder messes up the gels bonding characteristics or what not...

Thanks for the info...useful to know. Will you try any other green food in other forms?

Mussels, prawns and shrimp all contain greens. Mussels contain the most greens though and is evident if you look at them closely.

Given a choice, they'll always take worms (either type), krill is a close second. With everything else it's almost like they are doing me a favor. :)

Worms are to addictive I have had rays feeding on pellets stop feeding on pellets for 2 weeks after a feed of worms

If you want to feed spiralina then get some meal worms feed them on spiralina flake the feed the worms to the rays I feed my meal worms spiralina and apple the rays love them but are only lucky if they get 2 per week as they are just for my aro but the rays fight for any the aro misses
