There's another successful kel pair breeding in Taiwan, few months back. Not sure what kind of kels though. From what I hear, these are much less spectacular but still young so hard to really know. estimate these can be had at 60-80USD 2-3" fish, at the wholesale level. Have yet to see one. Heard the 2 batches were exclusively sold to macau and china.
300USD for japan bred fish sounds reasonable (high cost of everything there). I'd even go as far as saying a good deal, assuming the fish are at a stable size, and especially so with parents like that. Doubt they'd go for less cos the domestic and regional markets would pay much more I'm sure. 1000 isn't that many compared to the demand.
with successful kel captive breeding on the rise, wouldn't be suprised if prices corrected significantly across the board (wild/captive bred) in the next 1-2 years, provided they look nice full grown.
