Barely DIY, but INDY/resealing help still Required

You should be able to trim off any silicone on the outside of the glass, once it's cured, without any problems. Just make sure you use the razor blade flat & perpendicular to the joint so that you don't gouge into the seam between the panes.

I found it much easier to remove wayward silicone after it cured.

Did a leak test. No leaks! :headbang2

I'm actually pretty pleased with the quality of my seals, with the exception of one spot...

About 4" of one of the top corners looks like I pushed it together then pulled it back a little, so it has some moderate voids.

I'll put some pics of it up later today, but I'm thinking I can get away with injecting some extra silicone into the voids because:

1) The overall seal is good.
2) Its the top corner = less pressure.
3) The brace I'm building should hold any extra pressure that corner feels.
4) Its still pretty fresh silicone.

Thoughts?

Tank! :headbang2

And Voids... Should I be worried?

I bought a turkey-injector that I'm going to modify and inject some silicone into the voids. And the Brace will provide a lot of support...

Nice shoes. lol.

Tank looks good. If the voids are between the pieces of glass but you have good bead inside the tank at the joint you should be ok.

Yeah, the voids are between the glass. My bead inside is messy but solid.

I too am wondering about the silicone voids.

What are you wondering about it?

MaddMaxx- Specifically I am wondering if voids in silicone within joints pose a problem with the long term durability of the seal. Will the voids lead to potential early failure of the seam?

I guess we'll find out... lol. I'm gonna try "filling" them as best I can, but I think the seal will be ok regardless.
