Basement Build (300+ Gallon)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cool will be great when finshed. Wish my 55 look like that.

I dont have any more pics as this weekend we never managed to get to the hardware store and actually buy anything to build with.
Instead I went and bought an arowana and drank lots of beer :D

He's great... a silver aro about 5" long... still very juvenile, skinny and funny looking :P

Got a serious beating off the oscars when he first came in the tank, but he's all fine now thank god... and they leaving him alone :)

I will get round to taking some aro snaps and posting them up... and hopefully get my act together and finish off the walls in the coming week

 waiting for an update.

Well long time coming and i wish I had a lot more exciting news... but still on the floor im afraid.
I am a bit worried about the weight of the tank so I wanted to make sure that its as solid as possible before I start with the rest of the room.
also, my partners father does flooring for a livingt... and as its free its been getting done part by part when he's availible.

We have completed the floor now and the walls are next!!!
Once again, I hope youre not all to bored yet, it is happening, slow as it may be :P

We have a few new additions to the "growing tank"... I bought a silver arowana (the second one) and the oscarts bullied him around at first, but he has survived and is now eating well :)

Incase you are wondering... the pics were taken just before a waterchange as I took everything out the tank to siphon... hence the yellow water and loads of crap floating around!

The fire eel and the leopard synodontis are hising in the background in a black PVC drainage tube buried in the sand... and I bouight a shoal of 8 apollo cats last sunday as they looked big enough but unfortunately I only have one left today... (all thanks to the CK who ate em all!!)

Cant wait till I am ready to start with the 300+ tank!!!!!! :) :) :)

I dont think he's finished yet... he looked like a golf ball this morning his sides were so round... he stuffed 2 in last night...
I think the last one's time is up.

I liked the look of the apollos though... had they been bigger they wouldve gone down well... really active shoalers and they get a decent size too..

Wouldve been good in the 300 gallon ... aah well.... live and learn i guess

Can't really wait how it's gona look...:mwave:
