Obviously a fluval FX5 would be nice, but the point of the poll isn't which canister is best, its to compare relatively inexpensive cans that are commonly used...

Rena and Magnum only tow of the 4 big brands I have not had issues with. Fluvals are prone to leaking problems on many setups(very sensitive to head hight) and Eheim are very expensive, and parts are sometime cheap quality such as the intakes and out takes the filter it self is very good though.

never had a fluval leak on me, none of my fellow fish keepers in the area have had a problem with them either. seem way to common that i see a post about many of the other brands of canisters leaking, or with known issues

I've only used the XP3, so I can't badmouth the others, but I love my Rena. Easy to prime, easy to clean, good price, and nice flow rate.

On the flip side, i've never heard anyone complain about an eheim...except maybe about the price.

Lol thanks for reinforcing that. I still like to hear about other filters though. These are the only ones that are readily available at my LFS at prices I can manage. Thanks for the input everyone.
