bd/leo mix shedding what looks like slime coat...HELP!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Many rays have recovered from much worse beatings. Good water quality and reduced stress are probably all you'll need to get her back right again.

Presumably she's been eating well up to now so she'll have good reserves to live on if she stays off food for a little bit. Offer food *at least* twice daily, if she doesn't eat remove it but always offer it.

great news everyone..she looks better (slime coat wise) and I just threw in a chopped earthworm and she ate it...didn't want to feed her anymore so I shut the light and left her..going to do a 25% wc tomorrow with salt and prime..
her wounds look a little better as well
will keep everyone posted, but wanted to share the good news..thank you everyone for your advice!

thanks!
new question...how long do I have to keep her separated from the others? A week, or until she is fully healed? The reason I ask this is because I will be going away for a few days in weeks to come will be having my brother-in-law take care of the fish...not a fan of having the divider up when I'm gone (or when I am home) just don't like them period! I found my male on her side this morning...and then again when I fed her the earthworm earlier today...any suggestions?

he is a little larger perhaps 13in, but his claspers are hardly noticeable...so I don't believe he is mature...it's only him and 2 females around 11-12in in a 8x4x4...
I just think that the others smelled the injured rays slime coat, and went at her thinking it was food...idk what else to think!
I mean tomorrow I can try an rig the divider better...but its kinda hard to do so in this pond!

just wanted to give an update...she has fully healed and is back to her old self again! I removed the divider wall last weekend and the trio is back together lol
thanks everyone for all of your advice!
